Ankit Sirmorya

Ankit's career in the software industry spans over a decade in which he has led teams of software and data science professionals. Currently, he works as a Senior Engineering Manager at Zillow where his team helps craft and build platform technologies, data sets, and features that help Zillow premier agents better understand the needs of their customers. The team leverages machine learning and clickstream data to help agents identify buyers who appear to be high-intent-to-buy in the near future, enabling agents to plan their nurturing efforts accordingly.

In his previous role as an Engineering Manager for Amazon's Core Personalization Team, he worked to make Amazon's shopping experience even more valuable to customers by providing relevant and timely product, and content recommendations. He led the Amazon Customer Interests team, which builds and enables customer experiences based on customer interests. His team played a critical role in the launch of Amazon Inspire Portal, a TikTok-style feed that was featured in The Wall Street Journal. In various roles across different business divisions within Amazon, he has employed a blend of software engineering, data engineering, and data science to address customer challenges. Notable contributions include developing solutions for generating device accessory recommendations, targeting customers with marketing campaigns, and personalizing product detail pages. He has been the product and tech owner of technology services at Amazon which generate close to ~$1B in annual revenue.

With his leadership and critical roles through his career, he has gained access to distinguished organizations like the British Computer Society (BCS), where he holds a fellowship. He actively engages in AI-related social causes and initiatives and serves as an Angel Investor and Limited Partner (LP) in numerous USA-based angel syndicates. Additionally, he acts as a startup advisor at prestigious institutions, offering guidance on product strategy.
