Brooke White

Brooke has been a software engineer for 6 years. She has worked in an array of different industries as a software engineer from defense and startups to big tech on open source, greenfield projects and legacy codebases.

Through her professional experiences she has learned how to thrive when experiencing layoffs, re-orgs, management changes, conflicts, and job on/off boardings. Brooke has often found herself "the only woman in the room" in her career and is familiar with the unique challenges of being a woman in tech.

Before working as a software engineer in the tech industry, Brooke was a student in community/junior college who was learning to program. She knew she wanted to be a software engineer but was intimidated as a first generation college student in a male dominated industry with no connections in the tech industry. When it came to interviewing, Brooke was challenged to overcome anxiety and depression which often left her unable to perform her best. With help from great mentors, she was able to be the first person in her family to graduate college and achieve her goal of being a software engineer at a tech company.

Brooke has a keen interest in providing support and career advice to those looking to break into tech, prepare for interviews, re-frame career challenges, make a career change, or level-up into a new role. Additionally, she enjoys helping others fine tune their resume and overcome interview and career anxiety.
